The cast of MTV's Jersey Shore is not taking Hurricane Sandy lightly.
The gang will host a live one-hour special to raise money for the hard-hit region November 15; the show's hometown, Seaside Heights, sustained major damage.
Jersey Shore and MTV are partnering with Architecture for Humanity, a non-profit group that provides design and construction services after natural disasters.
Architecture for Humanity will work with Seaside Heights to award rebuilding grants to local contractors, similar to its New Orleans relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina.
The organization is creating a "Restore the Shore" fund to help reconstruct the Seaside Heights boardwalk, as well as offer support to local businesses and residents.
The "Restore the Shore" special airs live November 15 from MTV's NYC Studio. Viewers will be encouraged to donate online or via text during and after the event.
The Shore cast hasn't been passive about the hurricane's impact.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has repeatedly urged her followers on Twitter to donate to relief efforts, and says she is doing the same, as is Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
In recent years, TV has uniquely spotlighted on the Garden State boardwalks, both with the reality smash Jersey Shore and HBO's period drama Boardwalk Empire.
The storm destroyed thousands of homes in the area and the iconic beachside tourist attractions were wrecked, like something out of an apocalyptic film.
"Who ever thought they'd see a roller coaster in Seaside Heights in the ocean?" asked New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who praised President Obama's handling of the storm.
On Friday, NBC's Hurricane Sandy telethon helped raise $23 million.
