Yet for the 31-year-old, this was cause for celebration. Adam Greenberg One At-Bat Seven years ago in his MLB debut, Greenberg was hit in the head by a pitch - the first, and only major league pitch he had faced until Tuesday night. After years of recovering from a terrible concussion and vertigo, and toiling away in the minor leagues, he finally made it back to the show, if only for a day. Greenberg, after a summer-long Internet campaign, signed a one-day contract with the Marlins on Tuesday, reported to the stadium and came off the bench in the sixth inning. R.A. Dickey, a knuckleballer and one of the toughest pitchers in the major leagues, made quick work of him, but Adam was still the big winner of the game. Guilford, Conn., native Greenberg is not taking this as a one-shot deal. He still aspires to earn an invitation to spring training next February. Good luck Adam.
