Gary Collins Dead; Miss America Host and TV Actor Has Died at 74 Oct 13th 2012, 18:13 (GettyImages.com) Gary Collins, the TV host and actor, died early this morning of natural causes in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was 74. Perhaps best known as the host of “Hour Magazine” and the Miss America pageant in the 1980s, Collins also appeared on shows like “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Love Boat.” In the 1970s, he starred on “The Sixth Sense” series. He’d recently made news for some erratic behavior, including an alleged hit-and-run incident in 2010 and getting arrested for failing to pay his bill at a restaurant in 2011.
