On Sunday, Buckingham Palace confirmed the pooch's passing, but left details on when he died and how old he was at the time of passing, The Associated Press reports. Monty made his international debut earlier this summer when he appeared in the London Olympics opening ceremony sketch with the queen and Daniel Craig. Two other corgis also starred in the pre-taped sketch. The British Monarchy's weekend announcement also confirmed the passing of another royal pup. Buckingham Palace also confirmed the passing of Cider, a dachshund-corgi crossbreed that also belonged to the queen. According to the official Web site of the monarchy, a corgi that was given to the queen on her 18th birthday bred a number of successive dogs at the palace and various residences.
