Bridge http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-08-20/tony-scott-famed-director-of-top-gun-commits-suicide-jumps-off-l-a-bridge/ Aug 20th 2012, 04:29 The director behind Hollywood blockbusters Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Crimson Tide, Man on Fire and Beverly Hills Cop II jumped to his death off a bridge in San Pedro, Calif., on Sunday, the Los Angeles County Coroner has confirmed. 68-year-old British film director Tony Scott — also a co-producer of CBS' The Good Wife and NUMB3RS – climbed a fence on the south side of the the Vincent Thomas Bridge's apex and jumped off without hesitation about 12:30 p.m., according to the website Daily Breeze. A suicide note was found inside Scott's black Toyota Prius, U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Jennifer Osburn told the publication. Scott, the brother and producing partner of Ridley Scott, is married to actress Donna Scott. The couple have twin boys. Officers from the LAPD, the CHP and the U.S. Coast Guard worked together to pull Scott's body from the water and bring it to a dock in Wilington, where it was turned over to Los Angeles County coroner's officials. UPDATE at 9.49 p.m.: The L.A. Times is now reporting investigators found a note in his car, which was parked on the bridge. That note listed contact information. They later found a suicide note at his office.
