Hunger Games: Catching Fire has cast Maria Howell as Seeder, a District 11 victor who is drafted into competition again for the 75th Annual Hunger Games, or Quarter Quell. The Atlanta-based actress is best known from the film adaption of The Color Purple, though she has also appeared on the small screen in Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva and The Vampire Diaries. With filming of the much-anticipated sequel scheduled to start in September, 'Catching Fire' casting announcements have reached a fever pitch. Last week alone, four slots were filled. E. Roger Mitchell will star as Chaff, Seeder's fellow District 11 tribute while Smallville actor Alan Ritchson was named as Gloss, a former Career tribute from District 1 who competes alongside his sister, Cashmere and Bruno Gunn will star as muscle man Brutus, a former District 2 victor who returns to the arena. Also cast was Meta Golding will play fierce golden-fanged Enobaria, the other District 2 tribute, who is known for the brutal way she came to win the Games. The newcomers join returning principals Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket), Woody Harrelson (Haymitch Abernathy), Lenny Kravtiz (Cinna) and Stanley Tucci (Caesar Flickerman).
