She recanted the brutal rehearsals in her memoir, Solo: A Memoir of Hope. Monday night, the Olympian opened up about her experience with Chmerkovskiy on Chelsea Lately. Host Chelsea Handler asked Solo why she didn't just simply punch Chmerkovskiy back. "You could probably take his a–!" she said. How did Solo respond? Solo said she didn't physically respond to Chmerkovskiy's slap because of the cameras. She didn't want the final edit to make her look like "the bad guy." So instead, she took off her mic "and threw it and left the studio." According to Solo, the footage of these incidents allegedly disappeared, but ABC did offer to pair her up with another partner. They were tweeting up until recently," sources close to Chmerkovskiy told Celebuzz last week. "She even invited him to the Olympics [on Twitter]."The former partners had exchanged friendly banter via the social networking site throughout the Olympic games, with the pro soccer goalie telling the DWTSstar she even had his seat waiting for him at Wembley Stadium. Chmerkovskiy hasn't spoken publicly about the situation, but he did post a few telling messages on Twitter. Last week, the pro dancer wrote, "Always hated hypocrites and liars … but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can't win at someone's expense." Now, both he and the show are reportedly looking into taking legal action against Solo.
